I have always made things out of wood. Wood is such a versatile material that it does not take much to learn how to cut it and nail it together. Making tree forts, underground forts, wind powered chairs (very dangerous when they tip over) was what I was doing when I should have been doing my school studies. It helped that my father added on to and remodeled our house a number of times and in the process taught me a great deal about wood. Hours of holding the light while he took apart the house and rebuilt it showed me that wood was the stuff to work with.

I started making small boxes at some point and started giving them away.

Lately I have been making tables out of dead trees and branches I gather on my property in Southern Illinois. Recycling in a sense. Green design or sustainable design.

See the current tables I have for sale at my page on etsy.com.
