A FEW DAYS IN ITALY - SHORT VISIT TO PASTEUM AND ROME

Although I have seen only bits and pieces of Italy I love it. The word on the street when I started looking at places to take study abroad programs was Italy was dirty and expensive. Not true. Yes it can be dirty but find a city or a place on the earth that is pristine and visited by millions of people each year. Expensive? Does not need to be if you are willing to sleep cheap and use your money on the good stuff—sites and food. Pasteum is south of Naples on the coast and is a tiny speck on the map. Well worth a visit for the three spectacular Greek temples. Rome—well Rome is Rome. You can't not find the history and you can't fail to be amazed at what is there. Even more amazing when you think about how many times the city has been invaded over the centuries. Only one word of advice—be prepared for the crowds. No way to escape them in Rome.
